About BuildWise

BuildWise is an independent website with free calculators for home improvement and DIY projects. It was started by the Crushjs Team after one too many trips back to the store for a few more bags of concrete, and one too many half-full cans of paint left in the garage.

What we believe

• The right amount saves money twice. You don't overbuy, and you don't lose a day to a second trip.
• Show the math. Every calculator explains its formula and lists each step, so you can check it against your own plans.
• Your numbers are yours. All calculations happen in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us.

How we keep results accurate

Our calculators use standard volume and area formulas and the coverage figures printed by manufacturers, such as bag yields for premixed concrete and typical paint coverage per gallon. Where we use a rule of thumb, such as screws per square foot of drywall, we say so on the page. We test results against worked examples and update the guides when common practice changes.
